Description: Sodium alginate and potassium bicarbonate combination is used as reflux-suppressant to relieve acid regurgitation, heartburn and indigestion (related to reflux).
Mode of action: Sodium alginate reacts with the acid to form a gel that float like a raft on top of the stomach contents. Raft acts as strong physical barrier to the forceful upward pressure of the reflux. Potassium bicarbonate neutralizes acid.
Indications: Treatment of symptoms of GERD such as acid regurgitation, heartburn and indigestion (related to reflux).
Dosage & Administration: Chewable Tablet: Adult and Children 12 years and over: 1-2 chewable tablets after meals. Child 6-12 years: 1 chewable tablet after meals. Suspension: Adult and Children 12 years and over: 5-10 ml after meals. Child 2-12 years: 2.5-5 ml after meals.
